Objectives

The training course for youth workers "Get ready for an adventure- Step on the Hero's Journey!" is created as a response to the initiative and common interest of four European organisations working with European youth in various forms of threat and in different parts of the European Union. The common interest lies in the need to be educated in the field of creative expressive methods embedded in drama therapy and art therapy. Seminar "Get ready for an adventure- Step on the Hero's Journey!" shows youth workers how today's youth can be inspired, motivated and accompanied in a healthy way. We invite the participants of the training to go through the experiential method of the Hero's Journey and, in this way, bring them closer to what a young person goes through on the path of growing up. The Hero's Journey is a cyclical experiential process (rite of passage) of an individual following an inner call to fulfil his own life visions. The individual steps of this path are already contained in ancient epics, myths, or legends. The American director, actor and therapist Paul Rebillot was inspired by this very process to create the experiential method "The Hero's Journey", which encourages the individual to follow his inner call in order to find his personal pattern of change. Young people can easily identify with this structure thanks to heroic stories. Tools that we will share in the training: - the drama therapy method The Hero's Journey according to Paul Rebillot - Art therapy and drama therapy techniques - Rituals of passage (such as social transformational events accompanying youth to adulthood, exams and tests on the way to adulthood) Objectives of the project: - Share the "Hero's Journey" experiential methodology among other EU countries (PT, CZ, GR) - Clarify all the steps of the "Hero's Journey" and create a dossier of specific techniques that make up the named method - To share the proven practice of accompanying adolescents in critical moments based on creativity, art and theater principles (how to practically use/modify the method according to the needs of the group) - Share specific case studies and examples of good practice - To hand over to youth workers work tools/techniques based on theatrical, art, and musical methods applicable in their own practice with youth (even outside the use of the entire concept of the Hero's Journey) - Act preventively and limit the burnout syndrome among youth workers - Increase society's awareness and empathy towards at-risk groups of young people through a specific video that we will prepare with the participants - Create a network of partners for further European cooperation - To learn/teach each other from the practice of all participating partners + multicultural education
