Objectives

The DIGI-YOU project aims to empower youth workers by equipping them with the digital skills, tools, and methodologies necessary to effectively engage young people in a rapidly digitalizing world. The project addresses critical gaps in digital literacy among youth workers and seeks to foster innovation in youth work practices by integrating emerging technologies like AI and blockchain. The overarching goal is to modernize youth work, making it more relevant and impactful in the digital age. The project responds to several identified needs: - Digital Skills Gap: A significant number of youth workers lack proficiency in digital tools, limiting their ability to connect with young people who are native digital users. - Integration of Emerging Technologies: There is a low adoption rate of AI and data analytics in youth work, missing out on opportunities for innovation and improved outcomes. - Need for Practical Integration of Digital Tools into Daily Youth Work Practices: Youth organizations require support to seamlessly incorporate new digital competencies into their routine operations to stay relevant and effective. Our main objectives are: Ob. 1: Enhance digital competencies of 20 youth workers: Equip participants with practical skills in digital tools, AI, and data usage to improve the quality of youth work. This includes hands-on training sessions and collaborative projects designed to ensure participants can immediately apply what they learn. Ob. 2: Increase integration of emerging technologies in youth work by 50% among participating organizations within one year: Support organizations in adopting AI and data analytics into their practices, measured by implementing at least two new digital initiatives per organization after the project. Ob. 3: Integrate at Least One Digital Tool into Each Participating NGO's Routine by Project's End: Assist each organization in adopting and integrating at least one digital tool or methodology learned during the project into their daily youth work practices before the project's conclusion. Methodology and Impact: DIGI-YOU will use a non-formal educational approach, emphasizing active participation, collaboration, and hands-on learning. Workshops, digital hackathons, and role-playing scenarios will allow youth workers to explore digital tools and emerging technologies in a practical and engaging way. Reflection sessions will help participants process their learning and link it directly to their work with young people. This participatory methodology ensures that the training remains relevant to the needs of youth workers and their organizations. Sustainability and Legacy: The impact of DIGI-YOU extends beyond the project’s lifetime through several key strategies: - The digital toolkit will be shared on platforms like SALTO-YOUTH and the Erasmus+ Dissemination Platform, ensuring that the knowledge and tools developed during the project are accessible to youth workers across Europe. - Each participating organization will implement the newly acquired digital tools in their programs, ensuring the practical application of the skills learned. A transnational network of youth workers will be established, fostering ongoing collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the continuous modernization of youth work practices. Through these efforts, DIGI-YOU will create a lasting impact on youth work, empowering organizations and youth workers to engage young people more effectively, using the latest digital tools and technologies. By modernizing youth work practices and fostering innovation, the project aims to equip youth workers with the skills and confidence to navigate the digital landscape, ensuring a more connected and empowered generation of young people across Europe.
