The main goal of this project is to enhance the competencies of youth workers in the area of emotional intelligence. By equipping youth workers with essential emotional intelligence skills and knowledge, we aim to enable them to better support the personal and social development of young people. The project strives to create a more inclusive, empathetic, and effective youth work environment, where young individuals feel understood, valued, and empowered in their interactions with youth workers. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project has several specific objectives. First, we aim to provide youth workers with comprehensive training on the key components of emotional intelligence, such as self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills, while demonstrating how these can be applied in their work with young people. Second, we intend to introduce youth workers to innovative tools and techniques, including empathy mapping, non-violent communication, and emotional regulation exercises, which they can integrate into their daily interactions with young people. Additionally, we aim to foster a culture of empathy, active listening, and non-violent communication within youth work, encouraging youth workers to use these methods to create more supportive environments. Another important objective is to provide a platform where youth workers from different regions can exchange best practices, experiences, and challenges related to emotional intelligence in youth work. Finally, we will develop a collection of workshop ideas and resources that youth workers can use to promote emotional intelligence among the young people they work with. To ensure the achievement of these objectives, we will use SMART goals. These goals will be measured through feedback, evaluation forms, and peer reviews. The achievability will be ensured through supportive training, while the relevance will be directly tied to their daily work with young people. Time-bound action plans will allow us to assess progress and make necessary adjustments, ensuring that the learning outcomes translate into improved youth work practices. This approach ensures that the objectives of the project are not only clear and practical but also capable of being tracked and refined throughout the project’s lifecycle.
