By implementing this project we want to achieve spreading the philosophy of Permaculture in the field of youth work practice. Permaculture with its three main pillars - Earth care, People care and Fair share; provides many innovative and very effective tools to face climate change at personal and local level. In this project we are especially focused on its second pillar: People care. Our future is local. But nowadays, living in times of individualism, it can seem that we (human beings) have already lost the knowledge and ability to create and run local resilient and sustainable communities. We consider creation of local resilient communities as one of key actions in preparation for unforeseen challenges of the future. To support young people facing these challenges we aim to share 3 innovative methods of communication and cooperation which have the ability to transform personal and group relationships - Dragon Dreaming, Community Building by Scott Peck and the Way of Council. These methods provide effective tools to overcome prejudice, help us to deal with differences and discrimination, and lead us to profound understanding of ourselves and each other. Dragon Dreaming, Community Building and the Way of Council are methods which share a participatory approach. Therefore, all participants will be actively involved in all phases of the activities and will receive adequate support to do so. An important part of the participants' learning will be presentations and non-formal learning methods like experiential learning, embodiment, personal and group reflection for empowering participants achieving common objectives and personal goals. Participants of this project will get profound personal experience with these methods by lectures and workshops facilitated by professional and experienced trainers. Permaculture - Dpd.Patricia Pavlovska (SK) Community Building by Scott Peck - Karol Herian (SK) and Iveta Hruščova (SK) The Way of Council and Dragon Dreaming - Martin Gavalier (SK) For this project we set the following objectives: 1.To acknowledge and train participants in the concept of Permaculture in a way they will be able to spread it in their organizations or communities after return. 2. Provide participants with innovative methodologies (Dragon Dreaming, Way of Council, Community Building by Scot Peck) to create an effective toolbox participants can take with them and simply apply in their youth work. 3.To create handbook - working manual, helping participants to guid them in their future work. 4.To create partnerships for future projects aiming for environmental and social sustainability in the youthwork. Through these objectives, we aim to make youth workers proactive agents of change who will carry these philosophies, methods, and practices back to their communities, promoting sustainable, resilient futures for young people.
