The main objective of the “Balance Beyond Borders (3B)” project was to strengthen young people’s capacity to cope with increasing levels of stress, anxiety, and depression, which are becoming more prevalent due to the challenges of modern life. As highlighted in various international studies, including data from the World Health Organization and Eurostat, mental health issues among young people have been steadily rising, negatively affecting both their emotional well-being and daily functioning. In response to these needs, the project aimed to provide participants with practical tools and holistic approaches—particularly yoga and meditation—to support their mental and physical well-being. Through these methods, participants were expected to develop greater self-awareness, improve their ability to manage stress, and adopt healthier coping mechanisms when facing emotional challenges. More specifically, the project pursued several key objectives. First, it aimed to increase participants’ awareness of their own emotional states and enhance their ability to achieve inner balance through mindfulness-based practices. Second, it focused on improving young people’s concentration levels and stress management skills, which have been negatively affected by increasingly sedentary lifestyles and excessive use of digital technologies. Third, the project promoted physical activity as a way to support both mental and physical health, addressing the growing issue of inactivity among youth. Another important objective was to strengthen participants’ resilience in dealing with anxiety and depression by introducing them to sustainable and accessible well-being practices that can be integrated into their daily lives. In addition, the project aimed to support young people in achieving a state of overall well-being by combining emotional, physical, and social development. Beyond individual development, the project also sought to foster intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding among young people from different countries. By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds, the project encouraged the exchange of experiences, promoted empathy, and strengthened social inclusion. In this way, the project not only addressed mental health challenges but also contributed to building more tolerant, connected, and resilient youth communities.
