In today’s world, where globalization is taking place at an unprecedented pace and intercultural interactions are increasing, prejudices and stereotypes about other cultures that are deeply rooted in the minds of young people aged 18–25 hinder the establishment of healthy intercultural communication. This situation poses a significant challenge to social cohesion and peace. Across the world, migrants, international students, and individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds live together; however, it is observed that strong and healthy intercultural communication among these groups is often lacking. Ongoing wars and political conflicts further demonstrate how empathy-deficient and prejudiced approaches can lead to the misinterpretation of cultural differences and result in serious social divisions within societies. Cultural prejudices and stereotypes negatively affect young people’s personal and professional development and create serious obstacles to social cohesion and inclusion. Within rapidly changing global cultural and social dynamics, young people lack sufficient knowledge and skills to develop sensitivity toward other cultures and to communicate effectively with them. Moreover, opportunities for young people to acquire these skills through first-hand experiences are limited. Misinformation and biased content disseminated through social media and digital platforms further reinforce prejudices, deepening divisions between individuals and societies. Through this project, young people will first increase their awareness of Turkish culture and subsequently of the cultures of the participating countries. As a result, their empathy, understanding, and communication skills will be strengthened, and they will become “Cultural Ambassadors” equipped with 21st-century skills to take action in these areas. Within this framework, the overall objective of the project is to reduce prejudices and stereotypes about different cultures among young people aged 18–25. The specific objectives of the project are as follows: 1.To increase young people’s cultural sensitivity; 2.To provide young people with access to environments and resources where they can experience intercultural learning first-hand; 3.To equip young people with the ability to verify the accuracy of information they receive about different cultures; 4.To raise young people’s awareness of social inclusion; 5.To encourage young people to take action toward social inclusion in communities that include migrants and individuals with limited social and cultural opportunities; 6.To foster stronger and healthier intercultural communication; 7.To develop young people’s skills in using documentary filmmaking as a tool to raise awareness about social issues.
