By implementing the “Alternative New Paths” project, we aimed to achieve numerous interconnected goals that could be analyzed in various dimensions, and we worked to practically achieve these goals throughout the project. First and foremost, the project's objective of raising awareness about cyberbullying among young people was of great importance to us. Increasing young people's awareness of the types of bullying they encounter on online platforms and how to prevent such behavior was considered a step in combating the prevalence of cyberbullying. This awareness was expected to strengthen young people's determination to protect not only their own experiences but also their friends and the communities around them. School visits, one of the most important activities of our project, greatly contributed to our project. Through these visits, our participants were expected to better understand the aims and objectives of our project. We also explained and disseminated the aims and objectives of our project in the schools in the project area, increasing awareness. Digital Security Awareness was also an important goal: Young people were expected to learn how to protect their personal information on online platforms, how to create secure passwords, and how to cope with online dangers. This project aimed to reduce the risk of cyberbullying by enabling young people to use the internet more safely. It also aimed to raise digital safety awareness, ensuring that young people are more conscious and vigilant not only online but also in their daily lives. This strengthened their ability to cope with cyberbullying and contributed to a safer online experience for them. Developing empathy and communication skills was also a key objective. Increasing empathy and understanding among young people was considered an effective strategy in combating cyberbullying. The events and interactive workshops organized within the project created environments that allowed young people from different cultures to better understand and support each other. This enabled them to support victims of cyberbullying and act as active citizens to prevent negative online behavior. Furthermore, improving communication skills helped young people express more effectively how they would react when faced with cyberbullying. This created a healthier communication environment for resolving and preventing cyberbullying incidents. We also aimed to promote positive digital behavior: it was important for young people to exhibit respectful, supportive, and constructive behavior on online platforms. This enabled them to build healthier relationships in online communities and played a significant role in combating cyberbullying. The activities and training materials offered in the project contributed to the development of these behaviors by showing young people how they can be positive role models in their online interactions. Thus, young people were encouraged to positively influence their online experiences and communities, and this was recognized as a more effective strategy in combating cyberbullying. The planned school visit for our project was a crucial component of this awareness, as it allowed participants to better understand the aims and objectives of the project and was primarily disseminated locally. This also highlighted the importance of EU projects and their objectives. Another important goal was to create a global solidarity network: Our project aimed to bring together young people from different cultures to create a global solidarity network against cyberbullying. This enabled young people to become sensitive not only to problems in their own communities but also to a global problem like cyberbullying. Furthermore, these interactions allowed young people to understand the perspectives of different cultures and increase their awareness of diversity and inclusion. This created a more effective global environment of cooperation and solidarity in combating cyberbullying. There was also an incentive to pursue European Union (EU) citizenship. Throughout the project, young people were encouraged to explore and embrace the values, rights, and opportunities of the EU. The aim was to foster a positive perception of the EU among young people and to cultivate a sense of belonging to European citizenship. Ultimately, the project supported young people in becoming more engaged, active, and informed EU citizens.
