Our primary goal with this project was to draw attention to the social, psychological, and structural challenges faced by orphaned children, while also strengthening the personal, social, and professional development of youth workers and participants with fewer opportunities. Throughout the project, we successfully created a learning environment that increased participants' sense of social responsibility, improved their empathy skills, and fostered an understanding of active citizenship. By implementing our project, we aimed to increase participants' awareness of orphaned children and to challenge misconceptions in this area. Through workshops, group discussions, and experience-sharing sessions, we raised participants' awareness of child welfare, discrimination, and social exclusion. This contributed to participants developing a more sensitive and inclusive perspective towards disadvantaged groups. We also aimed to promote a culture of volunteerism and encourage participants' active involvement in community life. Through volunteer activities and community support work, participants gained experience in taking initiative, assuming responsibility, and contributing to society. This process created a strong motivation for participants to engage in volunteer activities not only during the project but also afterwards. Another important goal of our project was to combat discriminatory attitudes towards orphaned children and strengthen social reconciliation. Through training sessions and peer-learning-based activities, participants made significant gains in confronting prejudices, using inclusive language, and developing equality-based approaches. Through media literacy and advocacy work, we contributed to the dissemination of a more positive and respectful understanding of representation for orphaned children. Throughout the project, we prioritized mutual trust and open communication, creating an environment that strengthened dialogue and collaboration among participants. Through structured dialogue sessions, teamwork, and cultural exchange activities, participants developed their communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills. These activities supported participants in building healthier relationships both among themselves and with society. In line with our goal of strengthening social equality, we adopted an inclusive approach that considered gender equality throughout the project. By creating a space where all participants were equally represented and could express themselves freely, we contributed to participants internalizing values based on equality and justice. Furthermore, language workshops and intercultural learning activities enabled participants to improve their communication and language skills. In conclusion, by implementing this project, we aimed to increase social awareness regarding orphaned children, strengthen the culture of volunteerism and solidarity among participants, and support participants as individuals equipped to combat social exclusion, discrimination, and inequality. The project aimed to create a long-term and sustainable social impact by ensuring that participants were not only involved in a learning process but also became active participants in social change.
