Objectives

Our project “Tell a Story Make it History” aimed to address the growing challenges of discrimination, radicalisation, and hate speech by promoting diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding through the transformative power of theatre. The main objectives of our project were: To raise awareness among youth workers and participants about the dangers of hate speech and exclusionary attitudes, To use theatre as a non-formal learning tool to address social issues and to foster empathy, critical thinking, and collaboration, To strengthen intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding among participants from different cultural backgrounds, To equip participants with skills such as communication, creativity, public speaking, teamwork, and English language proficiency, To initiate a long-term artistic and social movement called “TheARTer for Diversity” that will inspire similar actions across Europe, To provide youth workers with a platform to share best practices, test new methods, and create inclusive learning environments. Implemented with 32+2 participants from 8 different countries, the project included workshops, role plays, discussions, storytelling, and a final theatre performance in public space, giving voice to Europe’s youth against hate speech. In short, this project not only raised awareness on hate speech but also laid the foundations of a sustainable movement in the fields of intercultural cooperation, artistic creativity, and youth work.
