Objectives of our project: To enable our partner organisations and stakeholders, especially the participants and our target group, to gain the ability to analyse, analyse and evaluate the types of abuse that children are exposed to in their daily lives. To raise awareness about the causes of child abuse behaviours. To be able to make sense of the effects of abuse on children. To contribute to the development of verbal and physical methods that children can use to cope with abuse and protect themselves from such behaviours. To examine the quality and quantity of a global problem such as child abuse and neglect in specific countries. To enable participants to generate new ideas for preventing abuse and to exchange ideas with each other. To enable them to design creative activities for child abuse and to disseminate these activities. To develop sensitivity towards the sharing of children's private lives and bodies on social media and to gain the ability to combat such criminal elements. To improve their communication skills by establishing intercultural dialogue and to contribute to their sustainable communication. To enable young people to improve their foreign language skills. To increase the visibility of the work supported by youth organisations on universal and global issues at local and national level. To disseminate the work supported by local media in order to reinforce the awareness of responsible citizenship. To ensure that young people are more informed about Erasmus Plus programmes and to increase their participation in projects carried out within the scope of these programmes. To pioneer the provision of local and national support in order to support the personal development of young people and raise social awareness. To enable young people to participate in voluntary work in non-governmental organisations and to contribute to the development of solutions by developing activities for global problems. Reasons for Implementation and Starting Point of our Project: The main starting point of this project is to raise awareness of individuals about child abuse and neglect. Our aim is to raise awareness of young people, who are the future parents and today's older sisters and brothers, to develop sensitivity towards children's rights and to observe their environment. The project aims to raise awareness of families against child abuse and neglect. This is because research shows that child abuse is usually perpetrated by familiar people such as parents, relatives, carers or family friends. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines child abuse as ‘all maltreatment behaviours that negatively affect the health, physical and psychosocial development of the child and are carried out intentionally or unintentionally by an adult, society or the state’. This definition also includes behaviours that the child does not perceive as abuse or violence or that adults do not define as abuse. The first step in helping an abused child is to know the signs and symptoms of abuse. It is aimed for the participants to learn the distinctive aspects by classifying the types of abuse, to understand the distinctive indicators on the child and to gain intervention skills in this direction. In this context, it is of great importance for the society to gain awareness about child health and situations that negatively affect the physical-psychological development of children. One of our biggest goals is to disseminate combat and intervention programmes in order to protect children from violence and prevent violence. By contributing to the solution of abuse and violence, we aim to create a more livable world for children. In order to realise this dream, we aim to increase the awareness of young people on this issue and to ensure that they spread this awareness to their environment. At the same time, the project also aims to ensure equal opportunities by including disadvantaged participants and to emphasise gender equality. The themes of equality, balance and justice are among the concepts that shape the concepts around the issue of child abuse and neglect, which form the basis of the project.
