The project EcoMotion: Active Youth, Creative Minds, Healthy Earth aimed to empower young people from Austria and Greece to lead healthier, more sustainable, and socially inclusive lives through non-formal learning and intercultural exchange. The main objective was to address challenges faced by young people today, such as physical inactivity, mental health issues, limited environmental awareness, and social isolation, by combining physical activities, environmental engagement, and intercultural dialogue in a shared European learning experience. Through the youth exchange, the project sought to strengthen participants’ physical and mental well-being, raise awareness of climate change and sustainability, and foster intercultural understanding and European solidarity. A strong focus was placed on inclusion and diversity by involving young people from different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds, including participants with fewer opportunities. In line with Erasmus+ priorities, the project promoted active citizenship, respect for shared European values, environmental responsibility, and youth participation, while also supporting the development of key competences such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and critical thinking.
