Objectives

The main goal of this project is to empower young people by equipping them with essential green skills, fostering democratic participation, and encouraging sustainable living. By immersing participants in a simulated survival experience on a fictional last habitable island, the project aims to reconnect them with nature, develop resilience, and promote teamwork and leadership. It will offer a unique learning experience where young people from different cultural backgrounds can collaborate, share ideas, and learn by doing. The key objectives of the project are: Developing green skills and promoting sustainability – Participants will gain practical knowledge in eco-friendly agriculture, renewable energy, and resource management, preparing them to live more sustainably and contribute to environmental protection. Fostering democratic participation and active citizenship – Through collaborative decision-making and governance simulations, participants will improve their understanding of democratic processes and develop skills in leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. Promoting intercultural learning and social inclusion – The project will create an inclusive environment where young people can experience cultural diversity, challenge stereotypes, and build lasting friendships. Addressing digital dependency and improving well-being – By engaging in outdoor experiential learning and nature-based activities, participants will reduce their screen time, improve their physical and mental health, and reconnect with the natural world. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project emphasizes non-formal education, experiential learning, and peer-to-peer collaboration. It provides young people with a safe and supportive space to explore new ideas, challenge themselves, and grow personally and socially. The project’s outcomes will not only benefit the participants but also inspire change in their local communities and beyond, contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive Europe.
