The EYDSEC project (EcoTech Youth: Digital Solutions for Environmental Challenges) was implemented by IGAS (Interessengemeinschaft der afghanischen Studierenden), based in Vienna, Austria, in partnership with organisations from Albania, the Netherlands, Türkiye, North Macedonia, Romania and Cyprus. It was IGAS's first Erasmus+ project as coordinating organisation. The project brought together youth workers from all seven countries for a training activity held in Durrës, Albania. The project's central aim was to equip youth workers with the digital tools and environmental knowledge needed to engage young people in addressing pressing environmental challenges. Specifically, the project sought to: strengthen participants' digital competences (social media use, digital content creation and online campaigning) so they could design and run effective environmental advocacy activities; deepen their understanding of key environmental issues such as climate change and sustainable practices; build their capacity to reach and include young people with fewer opportunities; and foster cross-border cooperation and exchange of practice among youth workers from different countries. A further aim was to strengthen IGAS's own organisational capacity to design, manage and deliver EU-funded youth mobility projects. Inclusion was a core priority throughout: exactly half of all participants (21 of 42) were young people with fewer opportunities, evenly represented across all seven countries.
