The project aims to give a wider perspective on wood techniques and architectural styles used outside Belgium and to provide participants with an insight into how construction techniques are adapted to the climate and geographical conditions. It also aims to encourage sustainable thinking and the integration of environmentally friendly construction methods into their future professional practice and to improve their technical skills by studying innovative construction processes and materials.
In this project, we introduce participants to Swedish and Norwegian wood construction techniques, known worldwide for their sustainability and innovation. They apply advanced techniques such as passive house principles and the use of local and sustainable wood. This project provides students and teachers with an insight into international standards and environmentally friendly and energy-efficient construction methods, which is in line with the current sustainability focus in Belgium.
