Objectives

The Orp-Jauche Youth Center will host a youth exchange on the theme of surpassing oneself. The reception will take place in the Walloon region, from July 19 to 26, 2025. We will work with our partners from Germany and Reunion Island to implement this multilateral project. The thematic activities offered as part of this youth exchange will be based on 3 axes: - Experiencing surpassing oneself Through the proposed activities, participants will be confronted with their own limits and those of others. It will be a question of preparing to take on the challenges, of gradually pushing back one's own barriers to reach the final objective. Given that this is a collective project, we will be able to experience the strength of the group, the motivation of being together, the support of peers to surpass ourselves together on a mental or physical level. It will also involve reducing the fear of the unknown by having positive experiences, breaking the routine by changing your habits, overcoming your fears for the group, getting to know people you didn't know until then, overcoming the language barrier. In short, overcoming your fears and apprehensions and getting out of your comfort zone. - Meet inspiring people We have chosen to meet people with an atypical life path. The objective is twofold: a) illustrate the fact that everything is possible if you give yourself the means (preparation, financing, planning); b) promote getting moving, moving forward, setting ambitious goals. These inspiring people will share their life stories with us, whether they have achieved a sporting feat, made a dream come true, or had to face an impactful ordeal in their life. They will be a living example of perseverance and surpassing oneself. - Supporting the expression of young people Various activities will be set up throughout the stay to encourage the expression of participants in different forms: verbal or bodily expression, writing, drawing and creative arts more generally, music, photos, rap, poetry, etc. It will be a question of identifying one's feelings, emotions, aspirations and expressing them through the different techniques that will be proposed. The achievements will constitute as many supports that will allow to share the experience lived with others, to transmit strong emotions and to offer another reading of surpassing thanks to artistic creations. In addition to the activities directly linked to the theme, it will be a question of developing life skills such as living together, on the one hand in the preparation of this project where we learn to work as a team, and on the other hand during the stay where we will have to live daily in a large international group. It is also an opportunity to prepare for the concept of teamwork, with the distribution of tasks, taking initiatives, respecting commitments to the group, etc. We will therefore pursue objectives related to the experimentation of youth exchanges as a multicultural project: - To discover our country, its culture, our lifestyle, our rhythm, our food. - To experience community life and develop ad hoc know-how and know-how to live. - To promote cohesion and team spirit by encouraging communication and mutual assistance between participants; essential skills for the success of a collective project. - To encourage diversity and inclusion by making activities accessible to all, adapted to different levels and abilities. Throughout this project, activities based on non-formal learning methods will be set up. We will raise awareness, exchange points of view, debate via participatory techniques. The final objective will be that each of the participants can, through this project, give their all and gradually get closer to the best version of themselves, "Kaizen".
