Objectives

The project "To Late for Ignore Us !" aims to strengthen the engagement of young people in civic and political participation by offering them a space for exchange, reflection, and action. It is part of the ongoing efforts by Dynamo International and its partners within the NoLeBy (No One Left Behind) program, which seeks to empower vulnerable youth to express themselves, mobilize, and claim their rights. In a context where the voices of young people are often minimized or ignored in decision-making spaces, this project aims to demonstrate that youth are agents of change, capable of initiating actions and influencing the policies that affect them. By setting up an international exchange, we hope to allow them to share their experiences, develop a collective advocacy, and present it to political decision-makers and field actors. The project has several fundamental objectives: - Fostering mobility and exchange between young people from different backgrounds. This will encourage open-mindedness, intercultural learning, and personal development for the young participants. By bringing together youth from various European countries, we enable them to discover different realities, challenge their viewpoints, and build connections beyond borders. - Creating a space for learning and discussion on engagement and civic participation. Many young people express frustration over the lack of recognition for their actions and the inertia of institutions. This exchange will provide a framework to structure their ideas, learn concrete tools for mobilization, and draw inspiration from the experiences of other young people and professionals in the field. - Producing a collective advocacy to address decision-makers. One of the main outcomes expected is the development of a collective advocacy (with the involvement of youth workers from across Europe) on the concerns and aspirations of young people in terms of engagement and civic participation. This document, based on the exchanges and discussions held during the project, will be presented during a meeting with political leaders. - Valuing the civic engagement of the participating youth. This project aims to highlight the initiatives led by young people, whether local or international. We want to provide them with a space to share their experiences, struggles, and successes, to inspire other young people and challenge negative stereotypes about youth. - Encouraging the sustainability of actions led by young people. We do not want this exchange to be a one-time event. Through the production of communication materials (videos, podcasts, articles, posters, etc.), we hope that the young participants will continue to spread their ideas and that the advocacy developed will be used beyond the project’s duration. This project is based on a non-formal education approach, where young people are not just passive beneficiaries, but active participants in their own learning. All activities will be designed to encourage their active participation, critical thinking, and autonomy. The project uses several methods derived from youth work and non-formal education principles: - Experiential learning, where young people will be encouraged to test, experiment, and analyze their own initiatives. - Group work and co-construction to promote cooperation and the exchange of best practices between youth from various contexts. - Participatory facilitation tools such as dynamic debates, open forums, self-assessment, and role-playing to stimulate reflection and expression from participants. - Socio-educational support, with the presence of social workers and facilitators to guide young people in their reflection and engagement. The project also emphasizes inclusion, diversity, democratic participation, and civic engagement. It will give young participants, particularly those with fewer opportunities (JAMO), access to a meaningful and enriching mobility experience. Finally, this project is important because many young people feel powerless in the face of inequality, the climate emergency, or social exclusion, despite their commitment in their communities. Their voices are often not heard or recognized. This exchange is based on the idea that young people are not passive: they have ideas and a real will to act but lack spaces and tools to structure their engagement. By offering them a platform for exchange, debate, and advocacy, we aim to strengthen their confidence, amplify their voices, and show them that they can have a tangible impact on society.
