Our project aims to transform the way young people are involved in our organizations. Our field experience shows that despite our willingness to involve young people, we sometimes lack effective tools and methodologies to achieve this. That's why we have designed this seminar that will bring together youth workers from France, Belgium, Morocco, and Tunisia. Our main objective is to strengthen the active participation of young people in our projects by providing youth workers with concrete skills and tools. We want to move beyond simply "consulting" young people towards real co-construction of projects with them. To achieve this, we will work on several essential aspects of youth work. First, we will deepen our understanding of different levels of participation through Hart's ladder, while experimenting with concrete participatory methodologies. Participants will develop their ability to create safe spaces where young people can express themselves and take initiatives. They will also acquire practical tools to mobilize and support young people in progressively taking on responsibilities. We also aim for a deeper transformation of our professional practices. Youth workers will be led to rethink their posture, moving from the role of director to that of facilitator. They will develop participatory facilitation and group management skills that will enable them to better support youth engagement. Through this project, we aim to create a network of organizations committed to youth participation, enabling the sharing of experiences and mutual support in implementing these new approaches.
