Inclusion of marginalised young peopleDemocracy and inclusive democratic participationDisabilities

Objectives

The main objective of this project is to strengthen the intercultural, social, and civic skills of young participants while promoting European values of solidarity, tolerance, and diversity. This project follows an inclusive approach, bringing together able-bodied youth, marginalized able-bodied youth, and young people with disabilities to foster exchange, cooperation, and mutual learning. As part of youth work practice, this project relies on non-formal learning methods to provide young people with an innovative and accessible educational experience. Through participatory and inclusive approaches, we aim to: • Promote the inclusion of marginalized youth and young people with disabilities by creating a welcoming and accessible environment where each participant can fully engage and express themselves. • Encourage intercultural and social discovery by raising awareness of cultural, social, and ability differences while combating prejudice and discrimination. • Strengthen democracy and inclusive democratic participation by educating young people about the importance of civic engagement and equipping them with the tools to express themselves, be heard, and take action in their communities. • Develop collaboration and social cohesion by emphasizing key skills such as communication, active listening, teamwork, and empathy, while fostering mutual support and solidarity. • Stimulate youth civic engagement by encouraging them to be agents of change, initiate projects, and actively participate in social and democratic life at local and European levels. Youth work is at the heart of this project, using non-formal and participatory education methods tailored to young people's needs and based on experiential learning. Young participants are actively involved at every stage of the project through interactive and inclusive methods, such as: • Collaborative workshops to foster collective reflection and personal expression. • Simulations and role-playing games to experience situations related to inclusion, democracy, and civic participation. • Pair and small mixed-group work to encourage cooperation and mutual learning between able-bodied youth and young people with disabilities. • Local actions and youth initiatives to enable participants to apply what they have learned in their own environment. These three dimensions allow young people to: • Explore issues of diversity, inclusion, and democratic participation (Explore) • Connect by building relationships and strengthening intercultural and social dialogue (Connect) • Act concretely to promote inclusion and reinforce their civic engagement (Act) Through this approach, young people gain essential intercultural, social, and civic skills for their future. This project will not only contribute to their personal development but also empower them to become active and engaged citizens, capable of making a positive impact on their local and European communities.
