With Forest Front, we want to engage young people around the socially relevant challenge: the protection of forests worldwide. Every year, hectares of forests are cut down in Flanders to accommodate industry, infrastructure and residential areas. The future of many forests is not guaranteed. Young activists from Manthoc fighthing to protect the Amazon forest is our inspiration to mobilize young people in Belgium for a more climate-just future. The youth delve into nature and forest management in Belgium and discover how different organizations, from Amnesty International to Bos+, are making a difference every day to fight for more and better forests in the world. In collaboration with the Climate Coalition, they look for ways to weigh in on Belgian climate policy where not only their own voices have a place, but also international voices, such as those of young indigenous activists in Peru, get louder.
