The "School of Culture" project aims to equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to actively manage and lead cultural projects, while encouraging cross-cultural understanding, promoting inclusivity and contributing to the recovery and growth of the cultural sector. Grounded in the principles of youth work, this project focuses on providing non-formal education to help young participants develop personally and professionally in cultural management. I. Project objectives: 1.To equip participants with cultural management skills – the project aims to provide essential training in project planning, financial management, marketing and digital tools, ensuring participants are well-prepared to manage cultural initiatives effectively. 2.To enhance access to cultural education – by offering accessible, non-formal learning opportunities, the project addresses gaps in traditional education systems.Through real case studies, workshops, practical exercises, and group activities, participants will gain hands-on experience in cultural management, enhancing their practical understanding of the field. 3.To promote cross-cultural understanding and cooperation – bringing together young people from different countries, the project fosters dialogue and collaboration, encouraging participants to develop joint cultural projects that reflect shared European identity and values. 4.To empower young people to overcome barriers – by equipping participants with skills, confidence and networks, the project helps young people overcome obstacles and encourages active participation in the cultural sector, regardless of their background. 5.To encourage sustainable cultural practices – sustainability is a key focus of the project, which educates participants on integrating environmental, social, and economic sustainability into their cultural initiatives. 6.To create a network of young cultural managers – our teams will establish a network of young cultural managers who can support one another, share resources and collaborate on future projects. This network will ensure continued professional growth and the development of innovative cultural initiatives. II. Based on the outlined objectives, the project will achieve the following outcomes, in line with youth work practice: Empowering young people with cultural management skills – one of the primary objectives of youth work is to provide young people with essential life skills that enable them to navigate personal, social, and professional challenges. This project addresses that goal by equipping participants with cultural management skills that are not typically covered in traditional education systems. Participants will learn practical skills in project planning, financial management, digital communication and marketing, all tailored to the unique demands of the cultural and creative industries. Promoting cross-cultural understanding and cooperation – in today’s interconnected world, cross-cultural understanding is vital for cooperation and innovation. This project brings together young people from 9 different countries and by engaging them in joint projects they will develop a deeper appreciation for European identity and shared values. The project fits with the EU's focus on intercultural exchanges, helping break down stereotypes, promote respect for cultural diversity and encourage innovative ideas in cultural management. For young participants, especially those from rural or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the opportunity to collaborate with peers from diverse cultural contexts can be transformative. Supporting sustainable cultural practices and digital transformation – as sustainability and digitalization become increasingly central to youth work, these themes are reflected in our project. The project teaches participants how to incorporate sustainability into cultural management by considering environmental, social and economic factors. Our project supports the EU’s digital transformation agenda by providing participants with digital skills essential for success in the modern cultural sector. Digital tools are indispensable for modern project management, communication and marketing. By equipping young people with the ability to adapt to this digital shift, the project enhances their resilience and capacity to innovate in the cultural and creative industries. Creating a network of young cultural managers – key outcome of effective youth work is the creation of supportive communities that allow young people to connect, share and grow together. The project contributes to that goal by establishing a network of young cultural managers. This network will extend beyond the duration of the project, providing a platform for continued collaboration, resource-sharing and support. For many young people, especially those in rural areas or without access to strong professional networks, this new network will serve as a critical resource.
