The main idea of the project is to learn, understand and empower youth on how to use different storytelling tools to talk about a variety of topics in the realm of social change. The project intends to raise awareness about said storytelling methods and give the actual opportunity to use digital storytelling as a tool for social change. The project intends to focus on topics such as climate change, gender equality, diversity and social justice. Participants will work in groups to create digital stories that advocate for positive change in their communities. The youth exchange aims to provide its participants with these skills and knowledge to implement such practices in their own future workplaces, classes, NGOs, local events or even social enterprises. In short, while the formal avenues of education, legislation, and policy change play crucial roles in social transformation, grassroot initiatives and artistic methods offer distinct and mutually supportive contributions in achieving social change. These approaches engage young people on a more personal and emotional level and create a deeper inner connection to the issues at hand, therefore inspiring meaningful and lost-lasting change. Specific objectives of the Youth Exchange include the following: ● Raise awareness about social issues and misconceptions that come alongside it. ● Equip participants with knowledge and skills required for effective and captivating digital storytelling. ● Provide training on the use of basic digital tools and platforms for storytelling, such as video editing software, graphic design tools and photography. ● Encourage participants to choose formats that align with their stories and target audiences accurately. ● Ensure that participants understand their responsibilities in portraying social issues accurately. ● Raise awareness on how to use accessibility tools in storytelling accurately. ● Create theatre plays and videos on the topic of social change. ● Create a sense of community and connection within the participants to promote a supportive and collaborative environment. ● Provide personal and professional growth, offering development opportunities in leadership, teamwork, communication, and ● Increase intercultural competence within the context of social change.
