“Change minds, not the climate” is a 9 day Youth Exchange that will bring together 36 young people from 6 countries, arriving from different cultural and social backgrounds to learn methods and techniques of creative recycling while developing their skills and changing their mindsets and attitude towards the environment. They will practice inclusion, acceptance and learning how to create something together. The initiative and idea of the project originated from young proactive people who want to emphasize the importance of existing worldwide pollution issues and develop pro environmental behaviour amongst their peers to reduce harmful actions both in their community and globally. Together step by step we aim to change the current threat from pollution to a solution. AIMS OF THE PROJECT: -to understand alternative solutions we can develop in our daily life and at our own level to reduce our ecological footprint - to make the participants realize that living in an ecological way doesn't necessarily mean giving up our « comfort » - to spread practical and technical knowledge about "zero waste "lifestyle, upcycling and sustainable living - to improve competencies (such as initiative and entrepreneurship, problem-solving, team working, public speaking...) - to increase the participants self-esteem and competence in communicating with others “Change minds, not the climate” is a project that aims at raising awareness of youngsters about the environment and how to face the changements of our planet, to do it during this exchange We’re gonna pass through different topics, and at the same time through different approaches to change our commitment. During the project we want to promote the understanding of sustainability and sustainable lifestyle and improve awareness on own lifestyle compared to sustainability. Also we will improve awareness on current planet situation and learn about resilience. Objectives: GENERAL OBJECTIVE of our project is to contribute to raising awareness of local people and policy makers on climate change. -To raise awareness about a total of 30 young on climate change and to increase their level of knowledge about the carbon footprint. - To create awareness of volunteering among young people, to inform them about climate change in different segments of the society, -To develop entrepreneurship skills of young people with the activities to be held, - To improve the language skills of young people and increase their awareness about the linguistic diversity of Europe, - To increase the collaborative and teamwork characteristics of young people. - To ensure that young people are individuals who respect cultural differences, - To increase the capacity of NGOs.
