Objectives

"Non-Formal Education: A Key to a Green World" project, including partner countries Cyprus, Romania, Georgia, and Portugal, with a focus on 29 participants, 19 of whom face fewer opportunities, 4 group leaders, one assistant, one facilitaror and one participant who is physically disabled. The project aims to empower all participants, including those facing fewer opportunities and the physically disabled participant, to become active and engaged citizens who are equipped to address environmental challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future in their communities and beyond. Project objectives: Environmental Awareness and Education: Increase understanding of environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss among 35 participants from Cyprus, Romania, Georgia, and Portugal, through non-formal educational methods and experiential learning activities. Special emphasis will be placed on making the content accessible and inclusive for the 19 participants facing fewer opportunities, as well as ensuring accommodations for the physically disabled participant (Navaria Hotel Limassol). Sustainability Skills Development: Equip all 35 participants, including those facing fewer opportunities and the physically disabled participant, with practical skills and knowledge related to sustainable living practices, waste reduction, and responsible consumption, empowering them to adopt sustainable lifestyles and contribute to environmental conservation efforts in their respective communities. Youth Empowerment and Leadership: Foster leadership abilities, critical thinking skills, and confidence among all 35 participants, encouraging them to take action on environmental issues and become agents of change in their communities. Special support and encouragement will be provided to the 19 participants facing fewer opportunities and the physically disabled participant to ensure their active participation and leadership development. Intercultural Understanding and Cooperation: Promote intercultural dialogue, diversity appreciation, and cross-cultural collaboration among participants from Cyprus, Romania, Georgia, and Portugal, fostering mutual respect, empathy, and cooperation towards common environmental goals. Efforts will be made to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities. Community Engagement and Civic Participation: Engage all 35 participants in community-based environmental projects, campaigns, or initiatives tailored to the contexts of Cyprus, Romania, Georgia, and Portugal, promoting active citizenship, civic responsibility, and community empowerment. Accommodations and support will be provided to ensure the meaningful participation of the physically disabled participant and those facing fewer opportunities. Personal Development and Well-being: Support the holistic development, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being, of all 35 participants through outdoor activities, nature connection, mindfulness practices, and self-reflection in natural settings. Special attention will be given to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that meets the diverse needs of participants, including the physically disabled participant and those facing fewer opportunities. Capacity Building and Lifelong Learning: Build the capacity for continuous learning, personal growth, and skill development in environmental sustainability and youth leadership among all 35 participants, encouraging lifelong engagement in environmental advocacy and social change efforts. Tailored support and resources will be provided to ensure that participants facing fewer opportunities and the physically disabled participant have equal access to learning opportunities and support services.
