The Cyprus Forum 2025 aimed to strengthen youth participation in democratic life and policy-making by creating a structured space where young people could engage directly with decision-makers, experts, and civil society representatives. The project responded to the need for more meaningful and accessible opportunities for young people to express their views on issues that affect their present and future, particularly in the areas of democracy, rule of law, participation, and peacebuilding. The main objective of the project was to empower young people to actively participate in policy discussions by fostering intergenerational dialogue and enhancing their understanding of democratic processes at local, national, and European levels. Through interactive discussions and direct exchange with policymakers and stakeholders, the project sought to strengthen young people’s civic engagement, critical thinking, and confidence in contributing to public debate. In line with the EU Youth Strategy (2019–2027) and the objectives of Erasmus+ Youth Participation Activities, the Cyprus Forum 2025 aimed to promote inclusive and participatory democracy, encourage active citizenship, and ensure that youth perspectives are meaningfully integrated into policy discussions. By bringing together young people and decision-makers in a high-level yet accessible setting, the project contributed to building lasting links between youth and institutions and to fostering a more participatory democratic culture.
