By implementing the project, we aim to achieve two goals: To activate the professional passive foreign language knowledge of our college students in the General Nurse study programme, which will be highly beneficial for both the students themselves and local communities and organizations they are professionally involved in. To improve the weak language skills of our specialized teachers so that they are able to effectively participate in tandem teaching of medical issues taught in English.
We decided to enroll into this project because we have been struggling for a long time with a very insufficient active language proficiency among our students and professional educators. Both of these target groups are involved in the educational process at the local hospital, where many foreign doctors and specialists work, and it is also no longer uncommon for hospitalized patients to be of different nationalities. Thus, the active use of a foreign language is a must.
