The aim of the TIW project is to increase the media literacy of young people, to teach them to recognize the disinformation that is currently so widespread in our environment, to familiarize them with the manipulation and propaganda techniques that contemporary populists and extremists use, and to familiarize them with the role of free and public media in a free democratic society. We also aim to familiarize young people with the ways in which authoritarian regimes use social networks and digital technologies to influence democratic society in order to gain influence. We also aim to develop young people's relationship with democracy and its values, and to enable them to become better acquainted with democratic processes in society. We also aim to develop the digital literacy of youth, to familiarize youth with the basics of cybersecurity and safe movement and work in the online space, to familiarize youth with the most common types of cyberattacks and cyberfrauds that they may encounter in the online space, to familiarize youth with modern machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies and to familiarize them with how these technologies are abused to create very credible so-called Deepfake materials and the creation of so-called Bots that artificially increase the reach of disinformation campaigns and propaganda. We aim to increase the critical thinking skills of participants and teach them to actively recognize disinformation, conspiracies and distinguish content created by humans from content created by artificial intelligence. Last but not least, our goal is to organize a socially beneficial campaign to support the fight against disinformation, where we inform citizens about what disinformation represents for our free society and share with citizens tricks on how to recognize disinformation and how to effectively defend against it.
