Objectives

The main goal of the Step Into Nature project was to help young people reconnect with nature and show them that an active, outdoor lifestyle can be both meaningful and enjoyable. We noticed that many young people today spend a lot of time indoors and in front of screens, which often leads to lower physical activity and weaker connection to the environment. Through this project, we wanted to offer them a different experience – one that combines movement, learning, and personal development in a natural setting. One of our key objectives was to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle. By involving participants in hiking, outdoor challenges, and daily physical activities, we aimed to demonstrate the positive impact of movement on both physical and mental well-being. At the same time, we wanted participants to experience that being active does not always mean traditional sports, but that nature itself can be a powerful and inspiring environment for activity. Another important objective was to raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainability. We focused on helping participants understand how their everyday decisions affect the environment and encouraged them to think more responsibly about their behavior. Through practical activities and discussions, they were able to reflect on topics such as climate change, waste reduction, and sustainable living. We also aimed to support the development of soft skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Many of the activities were designed as group challenges, where participants had to cooperate, make decisions together, and step out of their comfort zones. This helped them build confidence and learn how to work effectively in an international team. In addition, the project placed strong emphasis on inclusion and intercultural learning. By bringing together young people from different countries and backgrounds, we created a space where they could share experiences, learn from each other, and build mutual understanding. We wanted participants to feel accepted, valued, and motivated to actively engage in the group. Overall, the objective was not only to provide a one-time experience, but also to inspire participants to take what they learned and apply it in their everyday lives – whether that means spending more time outdoors, adopting more sustainable habits, or becoming more active in their local communities.
