The project is designed to support young people in developing practical skills that promote emotional well-being and self-expression through photography. We will combine mindfulness techniques with creative practices so that the project equips participants with accessible tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and enhance self-awareness. This approach encourages youth to slow down, engage with their surroundings more meaningfully, and develop healthier coping mechanisms for the challenges they face in their personal and social lives. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to achieve several key objectives. First, it seeks to empower young people with mindfulness techniques by teaching them how to use photography as a means of staying present and understanding their emotions. This mindful approach to photography fosters a deeper connection between the individual and their environment, helping participants process emotions and manage stress in a creative, non-intrusive way. Another central goal is to foster creativity and self-expression. Participants are encouraged to explore their feelings and thoughts through visual storytelling, helping them overcome common creative barriers such as perfectionism and self-doubt. By learning to embrace imperfection, they gain confidence in their unique perspectives and artistic abilities. This process not only nurtures their creativity but also contributes to their personal growth and emotional resilience. The project places significant emphasis on promoting social connection and peer support. Through collaborative activities and group discussions, young people from diverse cultural backgrounds will share experiences, learn from one another, and build meaningful relationships. This international exchange fosters a sense of belonging and community, which is particularly important for youth facing social isolation or cultural barriers. Additionally, Mindful Photography aims to enhance digital literacy and artistic skills. Participants will gain practical experience in photography, composition, and editing, skills that are increasingly relevant in today’s digital landscape. These technical competencies not only support creative expression but also contribute to participants’ future academic and professional opportunities. A distinguishing feature of the project is its accessibility and inclusivity. Mindful photography is presented as a low-pressure, creative outlet that requires no prior artistic background or expensive equipment. By emphasizing the process over technical perfection, the project ensures that all participants, regardless of their resources or experience, can fully engage and benefit from the activities. This inclusive approach aligns with the broader goal of supporting mental health and well-being, particularly as traditional mental health support is often financially inaccessible or stigmatized. The project offers an alternative, approachable way for young people to care for their mental health through creative expression and mindfulness. Beyond individual growth, the project seeks to inspire active citizenship and social responsibility. Participants are encouraged to reflect on broader societal issues such as diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability. By sharing their unique perspectives through photography, they not only express themselves but also raise awareness about important community challenges. This fosters a sense of responsibility and motivates participants to become changemakers, using their creative skills to advocate for positive social change. The project also focuses on building lifelong skills and resilience. Through non-formal education methods, participants will develop essential soft skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability. These skills extend beyond the realm of photography, contributing to their overall personal development and future employability. To recognize their achievements, participants will receive a Youthpass certificate, validating their learning outcomes and providing a valuable credential for academic and professional pursuits. Another key objective is to strengthen intercultural understanding and European identity. By bringing together young people from diverse cultural backgrounds, the project fosters intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. Participants will engage in meaningful conversations about their experiences and perspectives, promoting empathy and breaking down stereotypes. This intercultural exchange not only enriches participants’ personal growth but also reinforces the values of Erasmus+, encouraging young people to see themselves as part of a larger, interconnected European community. Finally, the project is committed to ensuring long-term impact and sustainability. Beyond the immediate exchange, participants will be encouraged to implement follow-up activities in their local communities, such as photo exhibitions, workshops.
