The aim of this project is to enhance political literacy among young people and support their ability to actively participate in democratic processes. We want participants to understand how European institutions function, learn to formulate and defend their opinions, and develop skills essential for effective political communication and negotiation. Through the European Parliament simulation, young people will experience real political processes firsthand. They will gain experience in drafting legislative proposals, negotiating between factions, strategic planning, and publicly presenting political ideas. An essential goal of the project is also to develop critical thinking and media literacy. Participants will learn to analyze information, identify disinformation, and understand how political communication shapes public opinion. Thanks to workshops on political marketing, they will grasp how political propaganda is formed and how democratic processes can be protected from manipulation. The project will connect students from different cultural backgrounds, fostering intercultural understanding and a sense of European identity. Cooperation between Czech and Spanish students will allow for the exchange of different approaches to political issues and the creation of a joint document, "The Future of Europe 2035", summarizing their visions and proposals for Europe's future. This project is not just a one-time activity but will have a long-term impact by integrating its methodology into civic education at ZŠ Zličín and continuing cooperation with the European Trainee Academy. The project outcomes will be shared among educational institutions and youth organizations to inspire other young people to engage in active citizenship.
