The Sustainable ImPACT 3 project builds on the success of its previous editions, responding to the need for sustainability education due to growing environmental challenges. Originating from the EU Circular Economy Package (2018) and evolving in alignment with the 2023 revision of the Waste Framework Directive, the project addresses overproduction, excessive waste, and the importance of sustainable consumption. The 2024 Green Education Initiative and EEA reports highlight a gap in environmental education, and emphasize the need for structured learning to equip youth with sustainability competencies. The project's main objective is to empower youth workers with essential sustainability knowledge, competencies, and digital tools to integrate sustainability into their work and inspire young people to adopt resource-efficient lifestyles. Through two training courses, participants will develop advocacy skills, learn to apply digital tools in environmental education, and gain practical real-life experience in sustainability practices. The first training focuses on urban sustainability, tackling issues like waste, infrastructure, and sustainable fashion, while the second emphasizes rural sustainability, including experiential learning, agriculture, and practical green skills. The project also introduces the European Sustainability Competence Framework (GreenComp), ensuring a structured, impactful approach to sustainability education. Additionally, it fosters cross-border collaboration among youth workers, enhances their ability to design and run local sustainability initiatives, and strengthens understanding of EU environmental policies. By engaging youth workers across Europe, Sustainable ImPACT 3 advances the European Youth Goal “Sustainable Green Europe”, ensuring that young people are educated, empowered, and actively contributing to a sustainable future.
