This project is designed to create real opportunities for young people by addressing the challenges of brain drain, career development, and youth mobility. The primary goal is to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and motivation needed to actively shape their professional futures while staying connected to their home countries. Through activities and non-formal education we aim to empower young people to recognize their potential, make informed career choices, and contribute to their local communities while still benefiting from international opportunities. Instead of relying only on traditional employment, we will explore entrepreneurship as a way to reverse brain drain. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project will strengthen the role of non-formal learning in preparing young people for the challenges of the modern job market. Many young people, particularly those from regions affected by high levels of youth migration often feel that their career prospects are limited. This perception pushes them to leave their home countries in search of better opportunities, leading to a loss of talent in their local communities. With the implementation of this project, we goal to change this mindset and demonstrate that professional success does not have to mean leaving one's home country permanently. Instead, participants will learn to follow international career opportunities while also finding ways to contribute to local and regional development. Through experiential learning, they will develop problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and adaptability—qualities that are valued in today's labor market. The project will also introduce innovative methods, such as Reverse Mentorship Circles and Geo-Cultural Career Mapping, which will encourage participants to explore creative solutions to career development and migration challenges. One of the outcomes will be the Brain Gain Incubator, an online platform where participants can continue networking, sharing career opportunities, and accessing mentorship even after the project ends. This initiative will keep the impact and knowledge gained during the exchange is not lost but instead continues to grow and influence others. Another important objective is to raise awareness about the value of European programs such as Erasmus+. Many young people, particularly those from remote or underprivileged backgrounds, are unaware of the opportunities available to them through these initiatives. With integrating discussions and training on Erasmus+ mobility programs into the project, we will help participants understand how they can access further learning, training, and career development opportunities. This will make them more proactive in seeking out international experiences while also encouraging them to bring the benefits of those experiences back to their home countries. This cultural exchange will strengthen their ability to work in international teams, adapt to diverse work environments, and communicate effectively across different cultural contexts. These are crucial skills in today’s globalized job market and will give participants a competitive edge in their future careers. Many traditional career guidance programs focus solely on job placement, but this project will take a more holistic approach. By combining career development with self-awareness, community engagement, and practical skill-building, we will create a model that other youth organizations can replicate. The involvement of partner organizations in Germany, Reunion, and North Macedonia will help the impact of the influences youth work strategies in different regions. This project will help young people find real ways to grow professionally while staying connected to their home countries. It will encourage them to see local opportunities in a new way, by showing examples of success and by sharing useful skills in entrepreneurship, career planning, and leadership. By connecting young people with mentors, job networks, and practical career development tools, the project will help them make informed decisions about their futures. Overall objectives of the project are: Addressing youth migration by developing strategies to retain talent locally. Exchanging successful practices for talent retention and career development. Encouraging youth to contribute to local development while staying connected to Europe. Strengthening career opportunities for youth in Germany, Reunion and North Macedonia. Equipping participants with skills in entrepreneurship, career planning, and leadership. Creating actionable solutions to convert brain drain into brain gain. Increasing awareness of the European Union and European mobility programs like Erasmus+ among Reunion youth. Promoting active youth participation in solving local and global migration issues. Facilitating knowledge-sharing on entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities.
