Our project "Plant Your Seeds of Unity" brought together young people from six countries, Germany, France, Lithuania, Jordan, Armenia, and Georgia, in order to connect youth growing up in stable environments with peers directly affected by conflict, war, and displacement, and to jointly develop responses to the challenges this creates. The project addressed a clear imbalance in lived experience. While young people in Western Europe have grown up in decades of peace, participants from Georgia, Armenia, and Jordan live with the direct consequences of the 2008 Russo-Georgian war, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and regional displacement, including participants who are themselves internally displaced persons or refugees. The project set out to bring these two realities into direct dialogue rather than treating them as abstract topics. The core objectives of our project were: - To raise awareness of the situation of young people in conflict-affected regions and the impact of war and displacement on their opportunities - To combat discrimination by embedding inclusivity and respect into the educational approach of the exchange - To build a shared understanding of pressing social challenges and encourage joint efforts to address them - To strengthen participants' commitment to positive change in their own communities and support the emergence of future youth leaders - To develop participants' skills in debate, intercultural communication, leadership, and project creation through non-formal education methods These objectives were pursued through a youth exchange held in Ureki, Georgia, from 3–11 November (9 activity days plus 2 travel days), bringing together 36 participants, including group leaders, plus 2 facilitators, aged 18–30, from Germany, France, Lithuania, Jordan, Armenia, and Georgia.
