The goal of the project “Borders in Motion” was to implement a participatory German-Spanish youth exchange, the content of which was to be largely determined by the participants themselves. A concept combining outdoor sports activities and workshops was designed to ensure low-threshold access. The aim was to reach a diverse target group who were participating in an Erasmus project for the first time and some of whom with fewer opportunities. The joint project design was intended to offer them a wide range of experiences, in particular strengthening their self-confidence, self-efficacy, and promoting self-organization in a non-formal learning setting. In addition, climate-friendly project implementation was a goal that was achieved in terms of travel, food, program planning, and use of materials.
