Our project aims to raise awareness and develop solutions for young people against the risk of mental decline (brainrot) caused by digital content consumption and excessive use of social media. Today, young people face problems such as shortened attention spans, focusing problems and mental fatigue due to intense information overload and superficial content. Low-quality content consumed rapidly, especially on social media platforms, weakens deep thinking skills and negatively affects individuals' productivity and creativity. The term Brainrot is widely used to describe the devastating impact of this process on young people's cognitive capacities. Although the possibilities offered by the digital age make individuals able to access information quickly, unconscious and excessive use leads to digital addiction. According to the European Statistical Office (Eurostat), 36% of young people live a life without regular physical activity, threatening both their mental and physical health. In Germany, research shows that 20% of young people struggle to cope with the negative effects of excessive consumption of digital content. With constant notifications, short-term dopamine-inducing content and the search for instant gratification, today's young people are becoming passive consumers rather than productive. Within the scope of this project, we aim to teach young people digital minimalism, mental health, interaction with nature and productive living habits. Digital minimalism increases focus and productivity by reducing unnecessary content consumption, while interaction with nature helps individuals gain mental calmness. In addition, the positive effects of healthy nutrition and physical activity on the brain will be emphasized and young people will be encouraged to develop themselves with a holistic approach. Our project will be carried out in Germany with the participation of 28 young people and 4 leaders from Turkey, Germany, Bulgaria and Italy. During the 9-day program, young people will conduct workshops on digital minimalism and conscious use of technology, gain awareness through group discussions, and have the opportunity to rest their brains and improve their foc using skills through activities intertwined with nature. In addition, research on social media and information consumption will be examined to help young people develop sustainable digital habits. Throughout the project, young people will develop strategies to protect their mental health through individual and group work, participate in workshops that encourage creativity and productivity, and do exercises that support brain health through physical activities. Evaluation sessions will be held at the end of the day to reinforce the information learned, and the project outputs will be disseminated to a wider audience through dissemination activities. As a result, our project aims to strengthen young people's mental capacities, encourage productivity and enable them to develop strategies that will help them combat digital addiction. In this process, the project aims to reduce the effects of "brain rot" by helping young people develop conscious digital consumption habits that they can apply in their own lives.
