The primary aim of the "Critical Lens" project was to empower young queer individuals to confidently navigate the complexities of contemporary media, resist manipulation, and become advocates for media literacy within their communities. The project sought to address the dangerous phenomenon of homonationalism and pinkwashing, where queer rights are exploited to justify right-wing politics, racism, and xenophobia. Our objectives were to: 1. Create a safer space for queer youth to be themselves. 2. Promote active citizenship and increase their participation in society. 3. Foster mutual understanding and solidarity between queer youth from different countries. 4. Strengthen media literacy skills, focusing on critical thinking, bias identification, and recognizing manipulative strategies. 5. Promote Erasmus+ as an opportunity for the participants. 6. Create new long-lasting partnerships between organisations working with queer youth. 7. Promote European values of democracy, human rights, gender equality, and non-violence.
