The project pursues four central goals: 1. the promotion of social inclusion and political participation, 2. the awareness of climate justice, 3. the strengthening of political media literacy, and 4. the promotion of intercultural exchange and European values. The idea of this project is to bring together young people from different backgrounds and countries, providing them with the opportunity to collectively develop solutions for pressing future challenges. Democracy thrives on encounters, exchange, and collaboration – this is what we aim to achieve with our project. It is intended as an inspiration for young people to combine their visions and strengths in order to shape the future in a cooperative and inclusive way. By implementing this project, we seek to empower young people to become active shapers of their own world and advocates for an inclusive and sustainable future. A core objective of the project is to promote social inclusion and strengthen the political participation of marginalized groups. Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or with disabilities are often more severely affected by the negative consequences of climate change. By creating inclusive educational formats and safe spaces for dialogue, we provide these young people with the opportunity to raise their voices, develop their own ideas, and actively participate in decision-making processes that directly impact their lives and communities. Democracy thrives on diverse perspectives, and we want to ensure that all societal groups, especially those often marginalized, are equally heard and represented. Another key aspect is raising awareness and creating opportunities for action in the field of climate justice. The project offers participants hands-on experiences to help them understand the close connection between climate change and social justice. Young people will not only gain knowledge about political mechanisms related to climate policy, but they will also be encouraged to identify concrete actions they can take to actively contribute to a more sustainable future. Through workshops, forums, as well as experiential and interactive participation formats, we not only foster discussions on political and social issues, but also strengthen young people’s sense of self-efficacy. They will develop the ability to understand democratic processes and express their opinions in political discussions and decision-making. This enhances not only their sense of responsibility, but also their social and methodological skills, which are essential for their personal and professional development. A particular focus is placed on strengthening political media literacy, as young people are increasingly confronted with disinformation, fake news, and extremist narratives. Our project will equip them with critical thinking skills to navigate digital information, recognize manipulative strategies, and actively defend democratic values in the digital space. Interactive formats such as fact-checking exercises, digital research training, and discussions on media influence will provide them with the tools to identify misinformation and become informed, engaged citizens. Furthermore, we aim to raise public awareness on inclusion and climate change and encourage young people to take their newly acquired knowledge back into their own communities. In an era where political media literacy is becoming increasingly crucial, it is essential that young people learn to critically engage with digital information and stand up against extremism, populism, and disinformation. Ultimately, the project seeks to create a generation of engaged and empowered young individuals, for whom inclusion is not just an abstract concept but a lived reality, and who actively work towards a democratic society and the protection of nature and the environment. We are convinced that this project will provide young people with the skills and knowledge necessary to actively shape a sustainable, just, and inclusive future. The project aligns directly with the strategic goals of the Erasmus+ program, as it promotes social inclusion, ecological sustainability, political participation, and media literacy while strengthening intercultural exchange among young people in Europe.
