The world is facing critical challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation and depletion of natural resources. Reports from organizations such as the United Nations and the European Environment Agency show that these problems lead to consequences such as biodiversity loss, economic instability and social inequalities. Raising awareness and actively engaging young people on these issues is critical for sustainable solutions. However, research across Europe shows that youth engagement rates on environmental issues are low and more training is needed to develop leadership skills in this area. Our project aims to increase the knowledge and skills of youth workers on environmental protection and sustainability, support youth leadership roles in these areas and raise environmental awareness at community level. In a survey conducted within the scope of the project, the majority of the participants stated that more support is needed in environmental education and community awareness. Accordingly, our project aims to develop the knowledge and skills of youth workers to lead environmental initiatives, as well as to design innovative and effective environmental projects. Overall Objective: To develop the knowledge and skills of youth workers on environmental protection and sustainability, enabling them to design and implement effective, innovative environmental projects that engage and educate young people in their communities. Objective 1: To equip youth workers with a comprehensive understanding of key environmental issues and sustainable practices at local level. Objective 2: To improve the project design, planning and strategy implementation skills of youth workers specific to environmental projects. Objective 3: To create opportunities for participants to network and build collaborations for future environmental projects.
