The primary goal of implementing a training course in digital literacy for youth workers is to empower them with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate, educate, and lead effectively in the digital age. As technology becomes increasingly embedded in our daily lives, the ability to discern reliable information, combat fake news, and utilize digital tools responsibly has never been more crucial. Youth workers, who play a pivotal role in guiding and educating young people, need to be at the forefront of this change. One of the key objectives of this project is to enhance the capacity of youth workers to recognize fake news and misinformation. In a world where misleading content spreads rapidly through social media and online platforms, the consequences of misinformation can be severe, leading to distrust, polarization, and confusion. By equipping youth workers with skills to critically analyze information, verify sources, and teach these skills to young people, the project aims to create a ripple effect of informed, critical thinkers within communities. The project seeks to bridge the digital divide by fostering digital literacy. This involves not only technical skills like navigating digital tools but also understanding their implications on privacy, ethics, and societal norms. Youth workers trained through this program will be able to guide young people in using technology responsibly, promoting a safer and more inclusive digital environment. By integrating digital tools and methods into workshops, activities, and campaigns, they can engage young people in innovative ways, making learning more relevant and impactful. The long-term aim of this project is to foster resilience and adaptability among youth workers and the communities they work and organize activities in the field of non-formal education. The organizations involved in this cooperation will exchange experiences, national practices, but will also create cooperation with the long-term goal of education in the field of IT technologies and digital literacy. OBJECTIVES OF THE TC: Train youth workers to critically evaluate online content and distinguish between credible information and fake news. Introduce methods such as fact-checking, source analysis, and recognizing bias in the media, enabling them to educate others on these techniques. Provide tools and strategies for understanding digital communication trends, identifying reliable sources, and utilizing technology for educational purposes Create opportunities for youth workers to connect with peers, share best practices, and develop joint initiatives in digital literacy and education. Foster an understanding of the ethical implications of online activity, such as privacy, digital footprints, and respectful communication Encourage proactive strategies to counter misinformation, such as creating awareness campaigns or providing accessible educational resources.
