Objectives

The project “Healthy Minds, Resilient Communities: Promoting Mental Well-being in Youth Work” was created to support youth workers in developing better skills and knowledge related to mental health. By implementing this project, we wanted to bring together 24 participants and 1 trainer and 1 facilitator from six countries: Germany, Greece, Spain, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. The aim was to create an international learning space where participants could exchange experiences, learn from each other, and build new competences. We wanted to respond to the real needs of youth workers, who often face mental health challenges in their work but do not have enough training or tools to support young people. At the same time, many youth workers experience stress and burnout themselves. Therefore, the project aimed to support both their professional development and personal well-being. Through the training course, we wanted to achieve several results: * We aimed to increase participants’ understanding of mental health and well-being. * We wanted them to gain practical skills, such as active listening, recognising signs of emotional distress, and providing basic psychological support. * We aimed to create a safe and supportive environment where participants could reflect on their own experiences and learn from others. * An important result was to develop a shared resource (a guide) that participants could use in their future work and share with their organisations. * We wanted to strengthen cooperation between partner organisations and encourage future Erasmus+ projects. The objectives of the project were: * To support youth mental well-being by providing knowledge and tools to understand and respond to mental health challenges * To strengthen self-care and prevent burnout among youth workers * To promote inclusive and supportive youth work practices, especially for young people with fewer opportunities * To develop practical competences through non-formal learning methods (workshops, roleplays, group work, reflection) * To increase participants’ confidence in dealing with sensitive topics and supporting young people in difficult situations * To help participants create safer and more supportive environments in their organisations * To develop and share practical resources (a guide) for future use in youth work * To promote Erasmus+ opportunities and encourage future international cooperation Overall, the project aimed to improve the quality of youth work by integrating mental well-being into everyday practice, while also supporting the personal growth and resilience of youth workers.
