Objectives

The "Skills for the Future: Supporting Youth Employability" project aims to address the significant barriers young people face in navigating the evolving labor market. These barriers include limited access to resources, insufficient career guidance, and a lack of exposure to innovative tools and methods that could enhance their employability. This issue is even more pronounced among youth with fewer opportunities, such as marginalized groups, rural youth, and refugees. Additionally, youth workers often lack the necessary training, methodologies, and international networks to effectively support young people in overcoming these challenges. The primary objective of this project is to empower youth workers with advanced skills and innovative tools to better support the employability of young people, aligning with the key priorities of the Erasmus+ programme: inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and active participation in democratic life. These objectives are integral to modern youth work practice, ensuring that youth workers can provide relevant, inclusive, and future-oriented support to young people. The project’s specific objectives include: 1. Enhancing Career Readiness Skills in Youth Work: The project will equip youth workers with practical methodologies and tools to support young people in developing essential career readiness skills. This includes conducting skills mapping, facilitating CV creation, and organizing mock interviews. By integrating these activities into their work, youth workers can provide structured and impactful employability support. 2. Building Digital Competencies: Recognizing the growing importance of digital skills in the labor market, the project will train youth workers to effectively use digital platforms. These tools will be incorporated into employability workshops, helping youth workers engage young people in developing their digital literacy and online professional presence. 3. Promoting Green and Sustainable Careers: The project emphasizes the need for youth workers to guide young people toward environmentally sustainable career paths. This includes introducing green job opportunities and eco-friendly practices, aligning with the EU’s transition to a greener economy. Youth workers will learn how to integrate sustainability-focused content into their programs, promoting environmental responsibility among young people. 4. Fostering Inclusivity and Social Cohesion: The project will provide youth workers with strategies and tools to engage marginalized and underrepresented groups effectively. This involves using inclusive facilitation techniques and understanding the unique challenges faced by groups such as refugees, rural youth, and youth with fewer opportunities. By adopting inclusive practices, youth workers can create supportive environments where all young people can thrive. 5. Strengthening International Cooperation and Knowledge Sharing: The project will facilitate collaboration among partner organizations across Europe, enabling the exchange of best practices, innovative approaches, and local expertise. This international cooperation will enrich youth work practices and expand the professional networks of participating organizations, fostering long-term partnerships and shared learning. 6. Creating Sustainable Resources for Youth Work: A key output of the project will be the co-creation of a Youth Employability Toolkit. This resource will compile best practices, digital tools, and activity templates for employability-focused youth work. The toolkit will be shared across partner organizations and their networks, ensuring the sustainability and scalability of the project’s impact. 7. Encouraging Intercultural Understanding: Cultural exchange activities, such as cultural nights and group discussions, will foster intercultural competence among youth workers. This experience will enhance their ability to engage with diverse groups of young people and address employability challenges from a broader, more inclusive perspective. These objectives are directly aligned with the Erasmus+ programme’s focus on professional development for youth workers and the promotion of inclusive, innovative, and sustainable practices in youth work. By addressing these areas, the project ensures that youth workers are well-equipped to meet the current and future needs of young people across Europe.
