With the implementation of the project, our organization pursued the concrete objective of systematically strengthening the professional competences of youth workers in the field of environmental awareness and sustainability and providing them with practical tools for integrating ecological topics into their daily youth work. The project was implemented in Marmaris in October 2025 and brought together a total of 34 participants from six European countries, including youth workers, representatives of civil society organizations, trainers and moderators. Within the framework of an intensive training program, the participants worked over several days on topics such as climate change, sustainable use of resources, circular economy and CO₂ reduction, and jointly analyzed the role of youth work in promoting sustainable social change. A central objective of the project was to significantly expand the knowledge and awareness of youth organizations regarding ecological sustainability at the European level. During thematic workshops and interactive learning modules, the participants gained detailed insights into current environmental problems such as global warming, loss of biodiversity and increasing resource consumption. Through group analyses and moderated discussions, concrete examples from the participating countries were examined, enabling the youth workers to better understand the effects of these problems on local communities and at the same time to develop methods for raising young people’s awareness of sustainable action. Another specific objective was to enable youth workers to implement sustainable working methods in their organizations and local activities. During practice-oriented training sessions, the participants worked with various learning methods such as group work, peer learning and case study analyses in order to develop concrete strategies for promoting environmentally friendly behavior. In several workshops, digital tools such as CO₂ calculators were also introduced and applied in practice, enabling the participants to understand what influence individual and organizational activities have on the ecological footprint. In addition, the project pursued the objective of promoting the international exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices between youth organizations from different European countries. During special exchange and presentation sessions, the participants presented successful environmental projects from their organizations, including local awareness-raising campaigns, educational programs on climate protection and community-based environmental initiatives. This structured exchange of experience enabled the youth workers to learn from one another, compare innovative approaches and develop joint strategies for future sustainable projects. Another central purpose of the project was the development of a practical sustainability guide for youth organizations and youth workers. During several working groups, the participants analyzed effective methods of environmental education, structured them systematically and developed concrete recommendations for the planning and implementation of sustainable activities in the youth field. The guide was designed in such a way that it supports youth organizations in integrating environmental awareness into their programs in the long term and implementing sustainable projects in their local communities. Finally, the project also pursued the objective of making the Erasmus+ Programme and the role of non-formal education in the field of youth work more visible. During special information sessions, the participants gained detailed insights into the opportunities of international cooperation and European mobility programs. At the same time, various non-formal learning methods were applied, including interactive workshops, moderated group reflections and practice-oriented learning exercises, which enabled the participants to convey complex topics such as sustainability in a participatory and practice-oriented way.
