Objectives

The project "Trailblazers: Innovating Youth Work Through Outdoor Education" aims to enhance the quality, innovation, and inclusivity of youth work by equipping youth workers with the skills and knowledge to integrate outdoor education into their practice. By using nature as a powerful learning environment, the project will help youth workers engage young people in meaningful, experiential learning processes that foster personal growth, resilience, and social inclusion. Through two training courses and an interphase activity, participants will: - Develop practical skills to design and implement outdoor education activities that are engaging, inclusive, and safe. - Explore how outdoor learning can promote well-being, personal development, and active participation among young people, especially those facing fewer opportunities. - Learn how to assess and manage risks, ensuring the safety and accessibility of outdoor learning experiences. - Exchange best practices and build a strong international network of youth workers committed to innovative and inclusive youth work. A key outcome of the project is the creation of an Outdoor Education Toolbox, a resource compiling effective methods, tools, and experiences that can be applied in various youth work settings. This will ensure that the project’s impact extends beyond the direct participants, inspiring more organizations and youth workers to integrate outdoor education into their work. By fostering collaboration between youth organizations from different countries, the project will contribute to a broader shift in youth work practice—one that values the outdoors as a space for learning, inclusion, and empowerment.
