Objectives

The European Green Deal aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, with at least 55% fewer net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, and the planting of 3 billion additional trees by 2030. The Deal pays special attention to the “Circular Economy Action Plan” to reduce pressure on natural resources and create sustainable growth and jobs. Additionally, the report "The Possible Implications of the Green Transition for the EU Labour Market" highlights the importance of "green" jobs in supporting the EU's green transition. To turn this transition into a driver of long-term prosperity and sustainability, it is essential to raise youth awareness of EU green transition policies and make them stay informed with their work connected to green transition. By implementing the project "Game On Green On: Play to Save, Save to Play," we aim to empower youth workers to address sustainability challenges effectively using innovative tools and methodologies. The project seeks to foster a culture of environmental awareness and action among young people while enhancing the capacity of youth workers and organizations to integrate sustainability into their programs and daily practices through gamification. The project aspires to: Equip youth workers with practical, innovative tools such as gamification, eco-friendly game design, and digital platforms to engage young people in sustainability efforts. Enhance leadership, facilitation, and communication skills to enable youth workers to effectively guide young people in climate action and sustainable behaviors. Create a multiplier effect where trained youth workers inspire young people to adopt green jobs, practices and actively contribute to their communities. Strengthen collaboration and networking among youth workers and organizations across Europe to exchange best practices and establish lasting partnerships in sustainability education. Spread awareness on Erasmus+ Programme and the European Union initiatives. Objectives of the Project from the Perspective of Youth Work Practice Provide youth workers with tools and methodologies to integrate sustainability into their daily work. Develop practical skills in gamification, eco-friendly game design, and using digital tools to make sustainability education engaging and impactful. Enable youth workers to design and deliver playful, interactive approaches that foster eco-friendly behaviors among young people. Develop resources, such as a Gamification Toolkit, to make sustainability education accessible, engaging, and effective in youth work contexts. Train youth workers to become effective leaders and facilitators of sustainability initiatives. Enhance their ability to motivate young people, organize collaborative activities, and foster teamwork around environmental themes. Increase youth workers’ understanding of key EU green policies, including the European Green Deal. Facilitate practical workshops on recycling, upcycling, and waste reduction to empower youth workers to integrate these practices into their programs. Equip youth workers with creative strategies to inspire young people to adopt sustainable habits and jobs. Foster a deeper connection between young people and nature through innovative and impactful educational activities. Foster collaboration among youth workers across six countries to exchange ideas and co-create innovative solutions. Inspire youth organizations to adopt and disseminate creative approaches to sustainability in their programs. To expand participants' understanding of the Erasmus+ Programme and encourage the creation of new initiatives. To disseminate information about opportunities such as YouthPass, Erasmus+ Programme, and SALTO among participants. By focusing on these objectives, the project ensures that youth workers are well-prepared to inspire young people and communities to take meaningful action toward sustainability. It bridges the gap between traditional youth work practices and the growing demand for innovative approaches to environmental education, creating a sustainable framework for future initiatives.
