Through the implementation of the project “Youth for Rights: Power in Participation”, our organisation pursued the central objective of strengthening young people’s awareness of human rights while simultaneously promoting their active participation in democratic decision-making processes. The project brought together young people from Germany and Türkiye and created a structured learning and dialogue space in which they engaged intensively with human rights issues. Through this international exchange, the participants were enabled to make their own experiences, perspectives, and demands visible and to actively contribute to societal discussions. One of the key objectives was to encourage young people to make their voices heard in decision-making processes and to publicly express their perspectives on human rights. For this purpose, various participatory activities were implemented, including workshops, moderated discussions, field research activities, and structured dialogue formats with decision-makers. These activities enabled participants to develop concrete policy proposals both in written and visual formats and to reflect on their ideas within an international context. At the same time, particular attention was given to actively involving young people with fewer opportunities and providing them with direct access to political and institutional actors. In addition, the project aimed to create a sustainable platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of human rights. During the project activities, participants gathered insights into human rights issues within their local contexts, conducted structured field research, and analysed existing challenges within their societies. Based on these findings, they jointly developed concrete policy recommendations from the perspective of young people. These recommendations were then compiled into a comprehensive report and shared with relevant institutions, organisations, and decision-makers in order to strengthen the inclusion of young people’s perspectives in political decision-making processes. Another objective was to develop informational and awareness-raising content on human rights and to make these materials accessible to a wider audience. Within the framework of the project, various informational materials were created and disseminated through digital platforms and social media in order to strengthen young people’s awareness of their rights and motivate them to engage actively in society. These materials were directed not only at the direct project participants but also at a broader group of young people, youth organisations, and civil society actors. Finally, the project placed strong emphasis on the long-term sustainability of its results. Our organisation worked closely with youth organisations, local authorities, and civil society institutions in Germany and Türkiye in order to ensure that the project results could continue to be used even after the completion of the activities. Through these collaborations, stable networks were established that made it possible to continue using the developed content, policy recommendations, and participatory methods in the long term and to develop new initiatives in the field of human rights and youth participation. At the same time, evaluation measures were carried out in order to systematically analyse and document both the personal development of the participants and the increase in their awareness of human rights.
