Europe requires more inclusive and cohesive societies that enable people to actively participate in democratic life. We believe that democracy is essential for the development of a fair, just, and inclusive society, and that it can only be sustained if citizens actively participate in the democratic process. Young people, especially youth with fewer opportunuties are often disengaged from political and civic life, leading to a democratic deficit and a lack of diverse perspectives in decision-making processes. Active Youth for a United Europe project aims to empower young people and encourage them to be active citizens. With this project we aim to contibute better understanding of democracy, active citizenship, EU citizenship, human rights, and multiculturalism. Given the decline in political and democratic election participation across Europe, our project aims to advance democracy. The project will build a bridge between young people and decision makers with its activities and results.
