Objectives

The aim of implementing the project “AdultWHO – how to cope to adulthood” was to support young people on their journey into adulthood by helping them acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully navigate different areas of life. The main objective of the project was to prepare 32 young people aged 14–17 for the role of an adult by offering opportunities to develop practical skills, self-awareness, and a sense of responsibility. The specific objectives of the project were: 1. Development of life skills and mental balance – Workshops and group activities were organized where participants learned financial literacy, communication skills, time management, and techniques to support mental well-being. 2. Enhancement of adaptability and self-assertion – A workshop and simulation game were conducted to strengthen young people’s assertiveness, teamwork abilities, and flexibility in various situations. 3. Increasing social and cultural awareness – Discussions and cultural events were organized to foster empathy and cultural understanding among young people and to encourage dialogue about the different experiences of becoming an adult across countries and cultures. In addition to practical activities, participants created a theatre performance and comics addressing the topic of transitioning into adulthood. Throughout the project, young people had the opportunity to evaluate their personal growth and readiness for adult life using various self-assessment methods (self-evaluation questionnaires, group discussions, and metaphor cards). As a result of the project, young people’s knowledge and skills improved, supporting their conscious and confident transition into adulthood, while youth workers strengthened their ability to effectively guide and support young people throughout this process.
