There are few opportunities at home, no knowledge to launch their own initiatives and often no reason to stay in their home region. The unemployment rate of young people in smaller towns is higher than in large cities in several partner countries and a significant proportion of young people have considered leaving their home region due to the lack of economic or social development opportunities. The aim of the project was to provide 13-17 year olds from six European countries with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge, to increase their initiative and civic engagement and to create an experience that they can take back to their communities. Eight key competences will be developed through workshops, with an emphasis on entrepreneurial, civic and personal development competences. Cultural evenings and international teams will support intercultural learning. In addition, a clear expectation was set that at least five of the six countries will implement an initiative in their community after the youth exchange, the activities will not end with the end of the youth exchange.
