ALMA provides services to children and adults in the spectrum of autism and/or with intellictual disabilities. The "photographic look" is a choice to express a thought, a feeling, a need. By observing the images we can get closer by learning more about how people with autism and/or disabilities perceive the world around them. Photography is a safe and pleasant choice because through art they have the ability to express thoughts and feelings.
The need to enrich the methods applied in ALMA's photography workshop for people with disabilities and/or autism leads to the search for new training practices. The partner Il Cassetto dei Sogni in Italy has been active for several years in photography training for beginners with or without disabilities by professional photographers, in small flexible groups and for those who wish to have access to state-of-the-art equipment and cameras.
