Mental health, resilience and interpersonal effectiveness, three fundamental aspects of young people's personal development and cohesion that we addressed in our last youth exchange with partners from Romania and Italy. The desire to implement the "7 Habits" project came from the observation of the anxiety, emotional disturbances and lack of social interaction that young people face due to the information overload they receive and the demands of the ever-changing modern reality. We have observed that these factors act as inhibiting factors both for their psychological well-being and for their professional or educational opportunities. In particular, anxiety disorders are universal among European youth, with estimates suggesting that around 16.5% of adolescents and young people in Europe suffer from some form of anxiety disorder (Beesdo, Knappe, & Pine, 2009). More specifically in this 8-day youth exchange focusing on Covey's very famous self-improvement book "7 habits of highly effective people", we aim to implement a project with a strong impact on the empowerment and participation of young people in the community. The orientation of the project focuses on a step-by-step pathway to get young participants to live with fairness, integrity, honesty and dignity - the principles that will provide them with security - so that they can adapt to change while seizing the opportunities that change creates. Through exploring each of Covey's seven habits, young participants will focus on the importance of taking responsibility for their actions, setting meaningful goals, prioritizing effectively, and engaging in positive collaborative relationships. We believe that once the Covey's 7 Habits project is implemented, young participants will not only have a solid understanding of how to apply these habits to their own lives, but will also be inspired to use these skills to benefit their communities. We hope that with the tools, knowledge and skills they will acquire, they will be able to have in all aspects a life of purpose, contribute positively to society and participate as active citizens in a diverse and interconnected Europe. The project is to be sustainable and dynamic both at individual and collective level as it focuses on the following objectives: Developing and enhancing social skills such as proactive thinking, emotional listening, teamwork and effective communication. Young participants to adopt habits that enhance their mental well-being, resilience and self-confidence. Become familiar with time management and prioritisation through goal setting and responsible decision making. Overcoming prejudices - Awareness and acceptance of the different cultures and ways of thinking of each country. Promoting resilience and stress management. Promote personal development among participants by encouraging positive and cooperative relationships based on mutual understanding and trust Creating a long-term and diversified youth network, through the promotion of social cohesion, cultural understanding, and active participation of young people, in line with the objectives of Erasmus+ and the EU Youth Strategy. Informing young people about Erasmus+ programmes and generating new ideas for projects that can be implemented through Erasmus+. By focusing on this way of thinking and by carefully selecting the participants, we aim to create a ripple effect where the skills and knowledge gained through this exchange can be widely disseminated, leading to lasting changes in the way young people can solve both personal and professional problems. Through collaboration and open communication, we hope our targeted approach will result in a youth exchange that offers a unique journey of self-improvement, cultivating life skills that are vital for the future. Regarding the last part of the question on the aspect of youth work placements, we believe that this particular youth exchange is in line with the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme and the EU Youth Strategy. Through the project young participants will become agents of change in their communities, inspiring others through the skills and values they will acquire. They will also be better prepared to face the challenges of an interconnected Europe, contributing to social cohesion and cultural understanding. Finally, through non-formal learning methods and approaches, the knowledge and skills acquired will have a direct impact on their professional and personal aspirations, enhancing their individual and collective perspective.
