The proposed youth exchange program with the title "TO GEt THERe" is implemented in the framework of the general cooperation of "The Locals" with organizations from Europe, to combat apparent social exclusion. Through this, the co-living is promoted και co-operation of persons with or without disability. With the implementation of the specific program, an adaptation of the society is realized, a small and protected society is created in reality within the real provincial society, with the essential addition of the inclusion of persons with disabilities to it. At the same time, through the activity of the small get to know each other celebrarion,the island society is invited to participate in the program, and through the creation of the film, the knowledge gained is disseminated to the wider Greek and European society. In Greek reality, the inclusion of people with disabilities is at a very early stage of the process, which means that citizens are rarely in a position to experience it. In fact, the citizens of typical development do not often come into contact with disability and with their partners. This results in them initially not being aware of the disability and as a consequence, those who are in contact with it tend to avoid interaction systematically. This situation makes it difficult to develop inclusion and significantly reduces the opportunities of people with disabilities to develop social and other important skills. With the present program, a local community is invited to know the disability and to coexist with it in a protected - structured framework, creating the condition of inclusion. Therefore, in a context of integration, the skills of self-regulation, self-determination, autonomous living, interpersonal relationships on the part of people with disabilities, and the strengthening of empathy and awareness of disability issues on the part of the local community are still being developed. The proposed activity will take place on the island of Parou. It is a provincial island village with a particularly active community, on the dates 23 - 30 June 2026. The special feature of this plan is the interaction of young people with disabilities in a context that will include the preparation of groups of It deals with artistic, recreational, social, educational, ecological/environmental and athletic issues and the implementation of learning outcomes in educational workshops for interaction with people with disabilities. This is feasible because the proposed youth exchange program will take place in a village that offers a variety of activities and opportunities for the active local community in cultural and other matters. With primary knowledge of the pedagogical value of the participation of people from different cultural, geographical or social environments, inspired by the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and the European Youth Goals, guided by the experience of similar programs that we participated in previous years and Excited by the impact of these programs on young participants, we decided to design the specific project whose main purpose is to ensure equal access for all young people to European youth programs, building a society based on European values and European identity. We believe that the above goal can be achieved through the goals that we have set for the present program and which are: - Understanding the difficulties faced by people with disabilities in their everyday life - Exchange of experiences and good practices with corresponding structures for people with disabilities operating in EU countries - Use of alternative forms of activities (artistic and athletic), creative employment and entertainment for people with disabilities - Developing and improving skills in care, rehabilitation and social integration - Integration of the surrounding communities in a multi-cultural society - Integration of the basic principles of the European Strategy for Resilience (2010-2020), the European Strategy and the European Strategy for Youth (2019-2027) - Facilitating and ensuring the inclusion of all young people in the society - Dissemination of acquired knowledge and experiences through the creation and screening of films - ντοκιμαντέρ. The primary goal is the creation of an inclusive society through the adaptation of this program as well as the promotion of this society and its way of functioning.
